Ascension Shenanigans - Episode XIV double feature: The Irrelevance of Methodology & On Focus

In spite of the double feature, this ought to be a short episode, pledging myself to being concise …. The thing is that I have considered several approaches on how to best make a point and discarded them all, then mixed them all up, and, well, here goes …

First, though, I would like to ascertain that I am not against the learning and teaching of methods and tools in any context. I am the first to smother people with information on handy herbs, cleanses, processes, healing methods and what not. They are all great. If you are a surgeon, I will be delighted to hear that you actually visited medical school. Similarly a teacher cannot be a teacher unless he or she has accumulated relevant amounts of knowledge on their subject.

Having said that, in recent years, thanks to the internet and blogs like this, there has been an explosion of methodology available on any sector. But we are, luckily, focussed on ascension, awakening, self-development, integration and so forth. I will have to resort to a metaphor: Picture a hill, nay, a mountain. For some reason or other everybody wants to climb that mountain, which is not an easy feat. People who have found a path are filled with delight and pride and an urge to help the people still down in the deepest valley, a noble sentiment. They set forth to describing their path in minute detail. They might develop a method of climbing and even sell it to the people at the bottom. As I said, there is nothing wrong with that. There will be people who immensely profit from their work, no doubt.

What I would like to draw your attention to is that you will still have to climb the mountain yourself. If the Buddha or Jeshua (fill in anybody you think has nailed it) was walking up that mountain and you were to follow right in his footsteps, you would not make it to the top. Simply because you are not them and I do not mean this in the sense that you are less. You are an individual expression of source energy. As you could not walk the Buddha’s path, so he could not walk yours. The entire walking up the hill business is your own personal conundrum and though you might profit from the experience of others and should do so – this is an interdependent universe – this will never be the whole story or solution. If it was, your life would actually be meaningless. (Which, for all those constantly looking for meaning, means: that’s literally it.)

To me it seems more important and I would highly advise you to find people to walk up the hill with you, along their own path, with whom to exchange experiences, supporting each other along the way. I know it’s not that easy to find them. They might be staring at their phone and not noticing you. But you need them more than the latest craze in increasing your frequency.

I am very aware that you already know all this and it is just that inner knowing I am appealing to, as it often gets lost in our daily routines. Try to see how much freedom you are gaining by acknowledging that whatever is helping you along your path is whatever is meant to be helping you along your path. Perhaps you don’t need that money for that course that sounds so tempting, perhaps you do. Perhaps there is something else around the corner. Perhaps the very experience of life is what is leading your way, sometimes gently, sometimes rough.

On to the very much related subject of focus. I have recently had a lesson on that and think it is very much worth sharing. On a day which held an energy conductive to abundance, my son and I performed a ritual or spell to call more abundance for all on the planet into existence. We used a mantra we liked and it was a very magic experience, drawing in wild whirls of beautiful energy, spiralling in and out with multi-coloured flashes. What is not to love about energy work? Apart from the planetary aspect, I was also holding some personal asking. One was to find fires for a gifting economy pod I am part of, another to increase my income through painting or healing or really any channel. Within a week after that, a little extra job manifested itself at the Rudolf Steiner School where I work part time. I was thrown into a back and forth between delight and despair. This would take care of immediate money issues. But it would also mean that I would have less time, would have to rearrange life with my kids etc. But then I realised that, looking at the circumstances, this was really the best and most appropriate manifestation to be had. Not referring to my possible desires but to my actual focus on a daily basis, where school takes up a lot of time, both physically and mentally.

This is a very good reminder of how the law of attraction works. So, remember, you bring in energy wherever your energetic focus is. If that is a crappy relationship or a daily routine you hate, I am sorry to say, it is not gonna go away and as has been often said, your inner resistance only increases the energy flowing. This is also why I have stopped doing affirmations, unless it is about something super present and also acutely in movement in my life right now. In case you realise that your focus is not at all where you would like it to be, the only possible change will come through changing the focus of your life. The real catch here is that we were brought up to all kinds of belief systems of how life works. So, questioning each one of them and discarding what is not working for you might be a long and painful process but it is so worth it.

Also, if you manifest stuff that is not totally perfect: I would advise you to not reject it completely unless there are very good reasons. See it as the new step in the game, a piece of the ladder and not some evil temptation stirring you from your righteous path. After all, you manifested it! There will be many lessons to learn along the way.
